'Former Wales prop signs new Harlequins contract'

Former Wales and British and Irish Lions prop Adam Jones has signed a new contract with Harlequins. The 34-year-old, who earned 95 caps for Wales before quitting international rugby in January, joined Quins from Cardiff Blues during the summer. Three-time Grand Slam-winner Jones has made four appearances in the Premiership so far this season. "He has been, and will continue to be, a huge influence on the whole group," said director of rugby Conor O'Shea. "He is still a competitor who wants to win things and I have no doubt he will help us hugely in that quest." Harlequins are currently fourth in the Premiership, with four wins from their opening six matches, and top their European Challenge Cup pool with a 100% record.

The man running around Tokyo dressed as a Christmas tree

A British man based in Tokyo is spreading Christmas cheer in a very unique way. Joseph Tame, who runs a small video production and digital media business, is dressing up as a Christmas tree -- equipped with lights and decorations -- and running through the streets of Japan's capital. "There are many areas of the city that are beautifully illuminated with Christmas decorations, but there are also areas where there are not, so I thought wouldn't it be great to take the fun and wonder of these illuminations into those areas and spread the Christmas cheer," he tells "I like to make people laugh and smile where they don't expect it." Tame built the Christmas tree by using an aluminum frame wrapped with two rucksacks and inserting the branches from two fake Christmas trees into them. The costume required 99 batteries, 30 meters of wiring and 60 days to make. "The reaction here on the streets have been amazing," he said. He starting dressing up last week and ventures out onto the city streets for several hours at a time.

'British number two splits with coach Veronelli'

British number two Heather Watson has parted company with her Argentine coach Diego Veronelli. The 23-year-old from Guernsey appointed Veronelli in December 2013, but he is no longer able to commit to spending up to 40 weeks a year on the road. Veronelli, 36, moved from Florida back to Buenos Aires earlier this year to be with his young family. Watson, the world number 55, won her second WTA tour title at the Hobart International in January. Veronelli, a former world number 150, had notable success in guiding Watson back inside the world's top 50 for a time, after she had slipped down the rankings following a bout of glandular fever in 2013.

Anthony Joshua beats Dillian Whyte for British heavyweight title

Anthony Joshua came through his first real test as a professional, knocking Dillian Whyte out in the seventh round to win the British heavyweight title. Olympic champion Joshua, 26, came into the fight boasting 14 straight knockouts in the first three rounds. But Whyte, 27, stood up to some huge blows and, perhaps more importantly, managed to land a few of his own. However, Whyte was wobbled by a hook to the temple before Joshua finished the job with a savage uppercut.
