Northampton 9-9 Racing 92

Northampton were held to a draw by Dan Carter's Racing 92 in Pool Three of the European Champions Cup. Saints suffered a heavy 33-3 defeat in the reverse fixture last weekend. Jim Mallinder's side fared much better in front of a home crowd on Friday but failed to cross the try line. Northampton fly-half Stephen Myler and his Racing counterpart, World Cup winner Carter, kicked three penalties apiece as the two sides were forced to share the points. Saints were down and out by half-time in last weekend's contest in France after going in 18 points behind. The Premiership club were much more competitive in a cagey affair at Franklin's Gardens, but were unable to cross the whitewash and have now scored only one try in their last four games.

'England fly-half agrees new Bath contract'

England fly-half George Ford has signed a new deal with Premiership side Bath. The 22-year-old, who moved to The Rec in 2013 from Leicester Tigers, has won 17 England caps and started their opening match at the 2015 World Cup before being left out for Owen Farrell. "It sounds like a cliche, but it really was an easy decision to stay here," said Ford, whose father Mike is the club's head coach. "I'm really looking forward to the next two years." He added: "I feel like I've become a better player since joining. "I always wanted to stay here, it's a great environment to be a part of. I'm very excited about the next couple of years, being part of this team and hopefully being successful at this club."

The goalscoring goalkeeper retires

He was the goalscoring goalkeeper whose record of finding the net was so good it put most outfield players to shame. A world champion with Brazil in 2002 and a winner of 18 major titles with Sao Paulo, Rogerio Ceni's long and successful career came to an end Sunday. And it's a testament to his goalscoring prowess that neither that World Cup success or his haul of silverware will likely be the achievements for which Ceni will be best remembered. Instead, the 42-year-old, who made his Sao Paulo debut in 1993, will be revered for finding the net 131 times in over 1,200 matches -- a record that left him with a ratio of at least one goal in every 10 games -- during a career which has spanned three decades.

Soccer governing body donates watches worth $1.4M to charity

World soccer governing body FIFA might not be able to turn back the clock on a wave of scandals but it's hoping donating watches worth an estimated $1.4m to charity will bring some closure -- on one chapter of its recent checkered history at least. Goodie bags gifted by the Brazilian Football Association to VIP attendees of a FIFA Congress in Sao Paulo ahead of the 2014 World Cup included Parmigiani watches worth $30,000 each. Subsequently FIFA's independent Ethics Committee insisted the watches be handed back, ruling they broke their Code of Ethics on the grounds they were "unauthorized gifts." Of the 65 watches only 48 have been returned, but they have now been donated to the streetfootballworld charity, which plans to plow the proceeds of their auction into Brazilian soccer projects.

Lindsey Vonn wraps up fourth straight World Cup win

There's simply no stopping Lindsey Vonn as she wrapped up a fourth straight World Cup victory Saturday on a bittersweet day for the United States ski team. Vonn, who scored a hat-trick of wins at Lake Louise last weekend in the speed disciplines, took the giant slalom honors at Are in Sweden to continue her domination of the 2015-16 season. But teammate Mikaela Shiffrin, one of her main rivals for overall World Cup honors, saw her hopes dashed by a knee ligament injury after a crash during the pre-race warmup.
