Flipkart backs mobile gaming startup

Mobile gaming firm Mech Mocha has raised an undisclosed amount of seed funding from e-commerce major Flipkart and seed-stage investor Blume Ventures. Flipkart has been active in the mobile gaming space after having backed offline gaming startup MadRat Games last year in November. The Bangalore-based firm plans to use fresh funds to scale up team and build multiple games for the Indian market as well as develop a back-end platform which would include social and payments solutions for their games. Mech Mocha's first game was called 'Puppet Punch', which the company claimed clocked 100,000 downloads in its first four days of launch earlier this year. It recently acquired exclusive rights of the upcoming movie, 'Chhota Bheem - Himalayan Adventure', based on the popular cartoon character in India to create games around it.
